“Laurent (like Yves Saint Laurent, without the Yves Saint) was our guide, and he was passionate, time conscious and an excellent guide throughout. He was clear about keeping to the schedule, which I highly appreciated. He collected us from our accommodation in Nice and took us to all the towns included in the tour. My personal favourite stops were St Paul de Vence and Eze, and I recommend hiking up to the Eze botanical garden for stunning views. Monaco old town comes in a close third. I highly recommend this tour.”

Nonetheless Lara with her extensive knowledge of the wineries and their products was able to bridge the knowledge gap and allow the participants to savour and describe what they were tasting without resorting to the insider speak of finish, tannins etc. Everyday terms which all could relate to in respect of the wine being tasted were the norm. “Would you drink this wine on a hot afternoon on a boat with friends?” Followed by, “Do you think it would be enjoyable…”
